One year biological sciences, one year general chemistry, and one semester organic chemistry or one semester biochemistry.
One semester organic chemistry and one semester biochemistry recommended. Parallel registration in BIOS 313 or 314 recommended.
Microbial cell structure, genetics, metabolic and biosynthetic activity, diversity, ecology and evolution including host-microbe interactions.
This course is a prerequisite for: BIOS 313, BIOS 314, BIOS 440, FDST 405, VBMS 403, VBMS 424, VBMS 441, VBMS 441L
