SOCI 309: Drugs and Society

Prereqs: 6 hrs of sociology or related social sciences.
Historical and contemporary patterns of drug use. Analysis of the antecedents and consequences of various forms of drug abuse. Examination of the types and effectiveness of legal responses to specific classes of drugs including; prohibition, decriminalization, and legalization. Prevention and treatment approaches to drug use.
