CYAF 383: Literacy Methods for Young Children

Research base and historical antecedents of current theories of literacy development in young children. The specific connection between those theories and construction and successful implementation of developmentally appropriate, relationship rich-literacy methods, strategies, materials, and environments for children from birth through Kindergarten. Assessment tools of teacher effectiveness and early literacy acquisition, formal and informal techniques.
